1. The History

Based in the beautiful laps of Saguache country, United States, Crestone was earlier known as the Town of Crestone.

It is a small town with a diminutive population of 127 people. However, as per the last update, in 2019, the population increased to 140.

Crestone was first established after the massive American Civil War.

The town got its name from the 14,000 pinnacles arranged east of town in the Sangro de Cristo Mountain Range. The mountain range got that name from the Spanish word “crestón.”

Crestone, Colorado, was initially essential for the Navajo country, as it was considered a holy place. It later turned into a settled little mining town around 1900, and the minimal paying mineral was found.

Crestone’s improvement as an otherworldly focus was started by Maurice Strong, a multimillionaire money manager and United Nations Undersecretary, and his better half, Hanne Marstrand Strong.

3.1. Haidkhandi Universal Asharam

Haidkhandi Universal Asharam is a universal ashram inspired by Haidakhan Balaji. Established in 1986, the ashram is located on about 101 acres of land, motivating and inspiring millions of crowds every year.

The area covers the home of several spiritual beings who are willing to step into spiritual life.

The Asharam initiates the words of OM NAHAH SHIVAYA every second, which turns out to mean refuging yourself to God.

3.2. Karma Thegsum Tashi Gomang

Karma Thegsum Tashi Gomang (KTTG) was built by His Holiness the Sixteenth Gyalwang Karmapa. He predicted where the Tibetan culture could thrive.

We are committed to carrying out the vision of the sixteenth and seventeenth Karmapas.

Rene Evenson, Director of KTTG, lived in Kentucky when she met her educator, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, through one of his books — The Myth of Freedom.

In 1998, Karmapa got a further 63.5 sections of land, remembering a little house and the Ziggurat for the valley underneath the stupa.

3.3. Mangala Shri Bhuti

Mangala Shri Bhuti was founded by Venerable Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche, who was born in Himachal Pradesh.

He was named with a Sanskrit name, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. The center empowers Buddhist teaching, which follows studying, implementing, and putting yourself completely into servicing.

3.4. Yeshe Khorlo

Settled in 1995, the temple was directed under the guidance of Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche. The spiritual center is located in Crestone, Colorado, United States.

The center implies a vision of growing Buddhist Dharma with three major steps-
