Losing weight is hard. You start the day with good intentions. “Today, I won’t eat my weight in food. Today, I’ll do all of the exercises.” But, the day starts slowly and you find yourself hungry, in front of the fridge, always reaching for the most dangerous cupboard, wherever it may be, and frustration sets in. Don’t worry! You are not alone and we have just the cheat sheet for you! Because here are the secrets of how to actually lose weight and feel good about it, without losing your mind.

Find Your Why

Before you start searching for the best diet plan or exercise routine, find your own why. Why do you want to lose weight? To fit in your favorite jeans? To be able to keep up with your kids? Having a clear motivation makes it easier to stick with a plan. And speaking of clear motivation, let it not involve what ‘others’ think. As you find your why, make sure it’s YOURS and nobody else’s — much less the society’s. 

Eat Smart, Not Less

This is the oldest advice in the game but — as relevant as ever. Eat real foods that your body needs and craves. Your body doesn’t need deep fryer delights, frozen pizza pools fast foods. Go crazy on vegetables, protein, and whole-grain carbs. True, even pizza is okay but maybe go for one to two slices and combine it with a salad! Oh, and I know ‘cheat days’ are oh-so-tempting, but keep them at a minimum, yes? 

Sleep: The Weight Loss Secret Weapon

Poor sleep makes you hungry for sugar and fat. Sleeping less than 7 hours a night can lead to more food consumption and a gain in body weight. Create a ritual before sleep. Dim the lights, drink some chamomile tea, and read a book. Of course, you might be a member of the 5 am club — which is perfectly fine — but turn in early and hit that 8+ hour mark of sleep. 

Set Realistic Goals

Losing 10 pounds in a week? Wishful thinking is a very dangerous thing to do. Losing 1–2 pounds is the most realistic and doable thing to do and you should aim for it. It may seem like a long shot but it’s very much worth the wait! Your body will thank you for it.

Treat Yourself—Mindfully

No fun makes everyone dull. Reward yourself for putting in the work. Take time off at a spa, go out with friends, and play some blackjack at https://ca.crazyvegas.com/casino-games. 

Hydrate Like Your Life Depends on It

You see your belly growing and your mouth is dry. More often than not, our pangs of hunger are a request for a glass of water. Always keep water by your side and drink away!

Drink 8–10 glasses of water to satiate your hunger, speed up your metabolism and look more beautiful!

Wrap-Up: It’s About Progress, Not Perfection

Losing weight isn’t just about what the scales say — you probably want to be leaner, healthier, and feel more comfortable in your skin too. And while you might be waiting for the scales to catch up, your body could actually be losing weight — you just don’t realize. You made it this far — set goals every time! Consistency is key, keep up the habit and treat yourself every once in a while!
