This an exciting summer camp for children ages 3 to 13 to enrich their creativity and imagination. Campers are provided with a pleasant atmosphere to explore the beauty of their hidden skills, and they can enjoy, play, and have fun along with their parents.

1.1.3. Programs Offered

The programs conducted in the camp engage the children and expose them to various activities listed below. These activities promote real-life learning and enhance thinking abilities.

The Childcare Network is a foundation for children ages six weeks to 13 years. The after-school program provides the opportunity for campers to choose their area of interest and engage in activities relevant to it.

1.2.2. Programs Offered

Every child can participate in any activity and program without any limitations. The main goal of this camp is to provide a handful of opportunities for kids to explore, discover, and enhance their potential. The programs are:

  • Digital Learning Platform: It is a pathway to learn mathematics in a challenging and confidence-building way rather than solving it boringly. The interactive approach ensures the students gain knowledge by visualizing the concepts.
  • Small Group Learning Stations: Diving into small groups enhances teamwork and removes the inferiority complex among kids. Furthermore, they become good friends.
  • S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math): This program promotes curiosity and creativity by providing hands-on projects, for which the students have to involve both sides of the brain to solve problems and proceed.
  • Physical Health and Development: Physical activities keep children energetic and motivated and, most importantly, strengthen their bones and muscles.

1.3. Camp Flastacowo

Camp Flastacowo is the only ACA-accredited summer day camp in Tallahassee. It is located at FSU Reservation, a 73-acre waterfront facility on Lake Bradford. Campers aged 8 to 13 can join the day camp and eight one-week sessions from June 6 and extend to August 5, except July 4 since it’s Independence Day.

1.3.2. Camp Programs

The camp comprises various fun activities and programs to enlighten the joy and expand their minds. They include:

  • Canoeing
  • Kayaking
  • Swimming and sailing
  • Wall Climbing
  • Outdoor games
  • Challenge activities

1.3.3. Registration Fees

The fee per session is $250 for one camper, and $10 can be saved if an additional camper is registered.

To reserve a session, $50 must be paid as a non-refundable deposit, and the remaining fees must be paid three days after the camp begins. If you wish to change the session, an additional $25 will be paid as an administrative fee.

1.3.4. Camper Criteria

The camp is offered to children whose grades are completed by May 27, and if your children are currently in kindergarten for the school year 2022-2023, then enroll them in kindergarten camp.

1.4. Lafayette Arts & Crafts Center

Lafayette Arts & Crafts Center is the oldest serving craft work center, which offers classes and camps for children and adults over 50 years. Besides summer camps, this center also provides pottery, stained glass, crochet, and drawing classes.

1.4.2. Camp Programs

  • The Summer Playground Camp Program: The playground camp operates in 8 sites, Jack McLean, Jake Gaither, Lawrence-Gregory, LeVerne Payne, Meridian Park, Myers Park, Walker-Ford, & Winthrop Park, from June 10 to August 2. This camp is for youths aged 5 to 17.
  • Full Day Camps and Half Day Camps are for children from 5 to 12 years and teens from 13 to 16, respectively.
  • Tennis camps: These camps are available at Forestmeadows & Winthrop Park and are designed for beginners to intermediate-level participants. Any child between the ages of 6 to 14 can participate.

1.4.3. Registration

You can register for the desired classes and programs and book sessions in Sue McCollum Community Center, which is adjacent to Lafayette Arts & Crafts Center.

1.4.4. Camper Eligibility

The camper must be at least five years of age and finished one year of kindergarten along with the proof of age, and if the camper is 13 and above years old shall not be allowed in full-day summer camp.
