1. About New York City:

New York is also known as New York City (NYC), which distinguishes it from the state of New York. It is one of the most famous cities in the United States.

All around the world, the popularity of New York is on another level. There are various reasons why it is situated on one of the world’s largest natural harbors, home to the headquarters of the United Nations, and also sometimes called the capital of the world.

The culture of New York City is what attracts the people the most. Located at the southern tip of the state of New York, the city is the center of the New York metropolitan area, the largest in the world by urban area. New York City has five boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, and Staten Island.

It is said that New York City never sleeps. New Yorkers are always found running around and busy with work, as surviving in a city like New York is not so cheap. The food, shops, NYC parks, seasons, fashion, and many things attract people to New York City.

2. Manhattan:

Manhattan is known as the heart of New York City. Mostly, it is called The City, the most densely populated and geographically smallest of the five boroughs. The Manhattan Islands are divided into Lower, Midtown, and Upper Manhattan.

Manhattan is famous for its cultural media and is home to the world’s entertainment capital. The areas in Manhattan have an authentic feel, and every place has its charm. The city’s lifestyle is expensive, so one can find small apartments for young people who want to make a living in a city like Manhattan.

There are many attractions, but the most talked-about is Central Park. It has all kinds of vibes that a person wants to have in every season.

3. Things About Central Park:

Central Park is an urban park in New York City between the Upper West and Upper East Sides of Manhattan. The Park covers six percent of Manhattan’s land area, so it is the largest public park, with around 35,000,000 visitors annually.

Central Park is the most significant art of work in New York City. It is the fifth-largest park in the city, covering 834 acres. It is the most visited urban park in the United States and the most filmed location globally.

Central Park’s landscape is expansive and has attractions like lakes and sanctuaries. Other than nature, there is also Wollman Rink, Central Park Carousel, and Central Park Zoo. There is also a mall and a theater located in the landscape of Central Park.

4. Famous Rinks:

Central Park has everything people need to enjoy, such as spending time walking around or engaging in fun activities. Throughout the year, the park is always buzzing with people; depending on the season, it opens activities suitable for it.

Throughout the year, Central Park is open for everything, but in winter, the skating rinks are open, which is what people wait for because there is no other time for ice skating.

Skate rentals are available at the spot, with many other options to enjoy ice skating. Two primary ice-skating rinks are the Wollman Rink and the Lasker Rink.

4.1. Central Park Wollman Rink

Wollman Rink is a public ice rink in the southern part of Central Park, Manhattan, NYC. The name came after the Wollman family donated the funds for the construction.

The time for ice skating in the Wollman Rink is available from late October to early April, and from late May to September, it is repurposed into Victorian Gardens, an amusement park for the children.

The Trump organization, under the Trump name, handles and maintains the skating rink throughout the course. The rink is located at the southeast corner of Central Park. Wollman Rink NYC is distinct from philanthropist Kate Wollman Rink at Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

4.2. Central Park Lasker Rink

Lasker Rink, located at North Meadow in the northern part of Central Park in Manhattan, NYC, is a seasonal ice skating rink and swimming pool. Situated at 110 Lenox Avenue, NY, United States, the Lasker Rink is known to be less cheap and crowded than the Wollman Rink.

The rink is used as a swimming pool in summer and an ice skating/hockey rink in the winter. The rink is used for public ice skating, skating schools, and ice hockey from late October to March. Lasker Rink holds lessons for all age groups. Every facility is available in the Laser Rink for group classes, one-on-one sessions, and skate rentals.

5. A Final Note

The winter season is always particular for people because it is the only time when snow and snow-related events can be enjoyed. But there is so much more in Central Park to explore.

A must-visit to enjoy and explore the NY winter season on the top list.
