This coastal treasure consists of both public and private beaches. Thanks to its famous beach scene, it’s one of those prime summer getaway spots that draws tons of tourists from all over the U.S. and abroad.

1. Cape Cod National Seashore

7. Nauset Light Beach

You know you’ve hit one of the Outer Cape’s iconic spots when you roll up to Nauset Light Beach. The real star of the show is that picture-perfect Nauset Lighthouse standing tall in the backdrop. You can’t help but admire the classic red-and-white candy-cane stripes reaching up towards the sky. It’s like a postcard scene come to life. 9. Craigville Beach

Craigville Beach is a public beach with clear and soft sand that provides wonderful scenic beauty to its visitors. Located in the Nantucket Sound, it is the most known beach in Barnstable. You’ll love summers here sunbathing and swimming along with kitesurfing.

10. Breakwater Beach

Breakwater Beach over in Brewster is one of those idyllic little Cape Cod hideaways. It’s across the bay, but once you make it there, you’re in for a treat. You’ve got these awesome rolling dunes providing a gorgeous sandy backdrop. And the beach itself is just covered in those classic Cape Cod shells – made for endlessly scouring the shoreline. Time your visit right around low tide and you’ll spot all sorts of cool marine life getting exposed in the shallow areas.
