St. Helena is a popular tourist destination located in Napa country in the United States. The city is small in size and has a population of 5.03 sq mi and 5438 (according to the 20202 censuses), respectively. The city is the center of the St. Helena American Viticulture Area (AVA), which includes more than 400 vineyards covering 6,800 acres of cultivation. 

St. Helena is famous for its delicious food and amazing vineyards. If you’re a food lover and looking for mouthwatering foods & good wines in St. Helena, then you have come to the right spot.

In this post, I’ve listed some of the best St. Helena Restaurants for you.   

11 Best St. Helena Restaurants

1. Giugni’s Deli

If you’re looking for some quick and delicious sandwiches, Giugni’s is the perfect place to go. The restaurant is kind of old-fashioned, with shelves brimming with classic candles, a few tables for dining, and a busy takeout counter.

The sandwiches here are not like those expensive fancy ones; rather, they provide delicious sandwiches with a large selection of meat, cheeses, and other seasonal ingredients. The tangy Giugni juice, a secret juice that is made up of some herbs and a red wine vinegar base, is just perfect to go with your sandwiches. 

Giugni’s Deli is quite popular and is also a local as well as a tourist favorite. 

2. Farmstead

Farmstead, as the same suggests, is a farm-to-table restaurant where you can be able to see the vegetable farm while taking a stroll around the restaurant. They have a lively patio where live music is organized on certain occasions and an exciting room where you can enjoy some wines and locally sourced ingredients foods with your friends and family.

On Sunday, Farmstead also offers a delicious brunch menu that includes Classic Mimosa, Farmstead Blood Mary that includes on-core vodka, housed smoked bacon, picked garden vegetables, and seasoned salt rim, which is a famous dish of the restaurant.

You can find this Farmstead Blood Mary at their stall at St. Helena Farmers Market, which stays open every Friday from May to October. 

3. Market

Looking for casual American cuisine? Then the market is a must-visit restaurant to go to. The market restaurant serves fresh American comfort food in a cozy cafe setting with rustic old walls and an old-fashioned bar.

They offer casual but elegant American food, including entrees, sandwiches, soups, chopped salads, and fried chicken that you must not miss. You will get a relaxing yet classy experience in the Market restaurant.

Private parties, meetings or events, weddings, birthdays, or gatherings with colleagues or friends. Market restaurants offer everything you need for special occasions with comfortable dining experience. 

4. The Charter Oak

Chef Christopher Kostow, a Michelin stars chef, started the Charter Oak restaurant. The restaurant is located in the heart of Napa Valley and is one of the best spots to dine in. 

The Charter Oak has a lovely outdoor terrace to enjoy your drink and meal. You can relax in the fire pits while waiting for your food. They offer a family-style dining experience along with seasonal and fresh ingredients. In the main dining space, the food is cooked in an open flame fire, and the inner bar is just a nice spot for crafted drinks.

The Charter Oak menu includes grilled meats, fresh vegetables from their farms, local wines, and unique cocktails. 

5. Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen

If you’re looking for foods that are different from typical American and European cuisine, then Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen is the right spot. They offer authentic Nepali and Indian cuisine in the Heart of the St. Helena main street. 

Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen is a casual restaurant with a decent takeaway business for those days when you’re not feeling like going outside your home.

For starters, they have vegetable pakoras, vegetable samosas, Nepalese Dal Soup, and Salads. Steamed Momos are a must-try, and they also provide different curry dishes, tandooris, and tikka Masala. From their bar, you will get sparkling, white, and red beer and other beverages.

6. Cook St. Helena

cook St. Helena is famous for its homemade pasta, fresh seafood, and locally sourced sides. This restaurant was started by two excellent chefs, Jude Wilmoth and Ryder Zetts, and both of them are famous for making Outstanding Italian cuisine. 

The restaurant is so famous that usually, their tiny dining rooms remain booked with locals and tourists. So, you should try to reserve your table ahead of time and enjoy their homemade pasta as much as you can. 

The menu includes appetizers, salads and soups, entrees, sandwiches, desserts, and some sides, Sapahetti Alle Bongee, eggplant parmesan, and cavatelli, all arrabbiata, are some must-try dishes. 

Cook St. Helena stays open from Monday to Friday, so book your table and enjoy their mouth-watering pasta. 

7. Tra Vigne Pizzeria

If you’re craving delicious crunchy and thin-crust pizzas, then Tra Vigne Pizzeria is the one. Their menu is full of delicious pasta, panini & piadine, and flatbread pizzas.

The best part of Tra Pizzeria is that the restaurant usually remains crowded, but still, you can get a table without making any reservations. The most popular dishes are garlic rolls, Mozzarella Al Minuto Pizza, Vespa Pizza, and Smoky Mushroom Bolognese. 

They also have a happy hour that includes Oysters on the Half Shell, Brooklyn-style Arancini, Buck-Fitty BBQ Spiced Smoked Chicken Wings, French Fries, malt vinegar aioli, and Wood Fried Olives. There are PTV SIGNATURE COCKTAILs and seasonal cocktails and wines to enjoy with your food.

Tra Vigne Pizzeria restaurant is just a perfect place to go with your friends and colleagues, where you can enjoy your food on their outside terrace and play Bocce on the court. The staff here are super friendly and serve their customers with a smile. 

If you’re feeling like not going out, then they also have a takeout facility to get your food at home. 

8. Gott’s Roadside

Gott’s Roadside is one of the famous fast-food sides in St. Helena, where you will see a long line standing outside Gott’s, so it’d be better to order takeout ahead of time.

The brothers Joel and Duncan Gott started Gott’s Roadside in 1999, and they provide California cuisine using locally inspired dishes. Gott’s has the finest and most amazing fast food, which is served on a picnic-table-style patio that kids will love. 

The menu includes a burger section where you should try cheeseburgers; they also have fries, sandwiches, salads, soups & chili, tacos, and hot dogs. They also have wines by the glass and a drafted bar, and in organic shakes, you must not leave before tasting thick milkshakes. 

9. Press

The Press is the place where locals, tourists, winemakers, and Vintners from all around the world come to experience the best Napa Valley has to offer. The Press has  Napa Valley’s largest wine collection of over 10,000 bottles with Mayacamas mountains and a spectacular dining room. All of this together makes the Press a perfect spot to enjoy your meal.

Their menu offers a lot of options, including Citrus-cured yellowtail, Sea scallops, Chips & dips, Ricottagridi, Cod Collar Croquette, Sweet & sour pig ears, Black cod, Yellowtails, Truffle-glazed chickpeas, Cabot cheddar, Jiyara chocolate creme, Brown butter maple cremeux, and many more. 

At the bar, order some oysters and drinks according to your liking to enjoy your day, or you can even book a table on the private patio to enjoy some steaks and good wines with your friends and family. 

10. The Model Bakery

The model bakery has been serving St. Helena since 1908 to its locals and visitors. This place is a great spot to grab a quick breakfast or lunch, Such as sandwiches, fresh salads, soups, and pizzas.

The English muffins of Model Bakery are Oprah’s favorite, and even locals love them so much that they are ready to stand in long lines to get them. 

If you’re visiting the model bakery, then don’t forget to get their English Muffins and the giant Cinnamon. You can also add a glass of strawberry lemonade, and if you’re craving something sweet, then order a slice of pie from the menu. 

11. Clif Family Bruschetteria

The last restaurant on the list of best St. Helen restaurants is Clif Family Bruschetteria, and you must put it on your tasting tour. You will find the green Clif Family Bruschetteria truck parked next to the Clif Family Winery.

Their menu includes Kabob koobideh, Bandari fishcake, Salads, various side dishes, and in the main, they have Funghi Bruschetta(V), Spring Asparagus Bruschetta, smoked Brisket Sandwich, and many more. Clif Family also has a gluten-free and kid’s menu. 

The service of the truck might be slow, but try to order ahead of time, and while waiting, enjoy the outside view.
