Anti-Semitism is the discrimination, pre-conception, and antagonism against the Jewish community and anti-Semitism are rooted in our history and continues to exist even today. Last year America witnessed plenty of antisemitic incidents and this is why The Biden administration is focusing on fighting against antisemitism.
The US government is trying to combat antisemitism by spreading awareness and joining hands with private entities.
People need to know the Jewish legacy, accomplishments of Jewish Americans, and Anti Semitism during the colonial period.
Government and Anti-Semitism
The Joe Biden administration has already released a national strategy for the first time to fight against, anti-semitism and recently, President Joe Biden also tweeted,
“Right now, antisemitic incidents are at a record high in America.
It’s despicable. And silence is complicated.
Under my presidency, we’ll continue to condemn hate wherever it rears its head, including by putting forward the first-ever national strategy to combat antisemitism.”

After the release of a national strategy to fight anti-Semitism, the government is much more strict against any discrimination.
Now any kind of discrimination against the Jewish community, whether online or offline will not be accepted.
Many Jewish rights organizations have welcomed this national strategy to fight, anti-Semitism.
Jewish safety is important for other communities as well.
If we ignore discrimination against the Jewish community, then the next day, there will be another community on the target.
The government has asked online platforms to prohibit any kind of anti-Jewish content from being published.
Not just this, the government also needs support from all the people influencing the public in spreading awareness.
Last year, there were several incidents of Jewish assault, discrimination, and molestation.
Celebrities, influencers, religious leaders, and politicians all need to come together to fight against anti-Semitism.
Definition of Antisemitism
While introducing this National strategy, the Biden administration did not follow the Definition of anti-Semitism as described in the framework of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA).
White House invited controversies and debates by defining anti-Semitism.
The White House did not adopt the definition by IHRA since it mentioned the name of Israel, a lot of times.
The US certainly wants to fight against anti-Semitism, but without making it geopolitical.
The US does not want any negative attention by adopting the IHRA definition.
The White House managed to curate the national strategy without being linked to the country of Israel.
The US did not deny accepting the IHRA document but cleverly chose another definition of antisemitism and by doing this now, the US can criticize Israel, without being labeled as anti-Semitic.
Well, it’s no secret that the US government has used its veto power to Block many resolutions against Israel for violating international laws.
Criticism
While some people are appreciating this move of fighting anti-Semitism by the Joe Biden administration some are criticizing it too.
It is being said in criticism that this National strategy is nothing but a tool for ignoring Israel’s wrongdoing in Palestine.
