Vice President Kamala Harris recently tweeted that she had a great time at the basketball game, cheering on the Los Angeles Sparks and Phoenix Mercury, as well as celebrating the return of @BrittneyGriner to the court.

Also, Kamala Harris said that BG has returned with grace, courage, and determination, which presents as an inspiration to all.

In yesterday’s match, Mercury scored 71 -94 against Sparks, and they lost the match to the Sparks. Brittney Griner individually scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in that match.

1. Who Is Brittney Griner?

Brittney Griner is a professional basketball player in America and plays for Phoenix Mercury in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

Moreover, she is a two-time gold medalist in the Olympics with the United States Women’s National Basketball Team.

2. Why Was Brittney Griner Put Behind Bars in Russia?

However, Brittney Griner was arrested in February 2022 at Moscow Airport after authorities allegedly found vape cartridges comprising hashish oil in her luggage. She was in a Russian prison for 10 months on drug charges and faced her worst time there.

3. How Did Brittney Griner Get Released from Detention?

After being arrested at the airport, Brittney was in detention, and additionally, she was sentenced to nine years imprisonment, and a lot of national controversies have started.

For releasing Brittney, an open deal of prisoner, the trade happened in December. She was released in trade for a high-level prisoner, a merchant of death, Victor Bout.
