2. Homemade Recipe
We don’t always have shakers, espresso machines, and ready-made brown sugar syrup at home. So, here we bring you the perfect recipe to make your shaken espresso:
2.1. Ingredients Required
- Six tablespoons of water
- Four tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- One teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2-3 Shots of espresso
- Ice
- Oatmilk
2.2. How To Make Brown Sugar Syrup:
- To a pot or pan, add the brown sugar
- Add water to the pot or pan
- Add the cinnamon to the pot or pan
- Add Vanilla extract to the pot or pan
- Heat the pan or pot on medium-high
- Whisk to combine
- Let the syrup come to a simmer for 2-3 minutes
The syrup comes to a simmer fast, so keep watching it. It should be a little watery. Getting into the coffee drink becomes too hard if it is too thick. It doesn’t dissolve into the coffee properly.
Stir the syrup till all the sugar is dissolved. And now your syrup is ready!
Then, we move on to the espresso part. We need 2-3 shots, which you can get using an espresso machine. The number of shots depends on your liking. If you like strong coffee, you can add more shots of espresso.
Add three tablespoons of the brown sugar syrup into a mason jar or a cocktail shaker. Add two shots of espresso to the mason jar or cocktail shaker. Add some ice. Now, give it a good shake.
Shake vigorously for a better taste!
Serve immediately: Take a regular cup, glass, or mug you like and pour the contents of the jar or shaker into the glass or cup. Add ice to the cup. Then, add the shaken coffee mixture. And top it off with some oat milk. Fill the oat milk to the brim of the glass or cup.
You can stir it as you like. Use a straw or sip it generously.
Adding more syrup or more espresso shots can give you a strong flavor. This recipe might be the one to beat the Starbucks drink!
