Also popularly known as the Queen of American Lakes, Lake George has been a popular vacation destination worldwide for the last two centuries.

Lake George Kayaking, which consists of more than 300 islands and about 109 miles of shoreline, is home to more than 3,500 people, but every year during summer, more than ten thousand people visit Lake George.

The water that flows through Lake George is considered one of the purest in the whole country. Moreover, there are also stringent rules and guidelines regarding the type of boasts allowed here.

1.1. Rich History

Much before Kayaking Lake, George became a popular tourist destination; it occupied a major place in the US’s history as major battles were fought right beside the water during the French and Indian War period.

Apart from the breathtaking views and scenic spots, lake George Kayaking is also home to many memorialized monuments, museums, forts, and public parks.

Some of the major highlights include the 35-acre battlefield park, which is home to many sculptures and monuments, and Fort William Henry, popular for its ghosts’ stories.

The magnificent Adirondack Hiking trail is considered an architectural marvel since the builders have put in a lot of effort to build a rock retaining the waterfall amid the rocks, and you are sure to have the best time here.

2.3. Visit Fort William Henry Museum

The Fort William Henry Museum, situated at the southern end of Lake George kayaking, is a historical war field used during the French and Indian War between the period November 1755 and August 1757.

Fort William Henry Museum now allows travelers to know more about wartime artifacts and relics as well as attend live military arms; it also features soldiers in uniforms who will be given muskets and an opportunity to drill along with them.

The Fort William Henry Museum is a popular spot visited by history lovers from all over the world; the museum hours are:

· 9.30 am – 6.00 pm on all weekdays

· 9.00 am – 5.30 pm on all Wednesdays and Mondays.

Kayaking on Lake George is one of the most popular and preferred activities by all Lake George’s visitors. During summer, Lake George is swarmed with visitors from all over the world.

Apart from kayaking, zipping around on motorboats is another popular activity. Lake George also offers amazing places to visit with paddle boards, including some of the islands there.

On the way, one can stop at the Department of Environmental Conservation and quickly grab ice creams and coffee from the Glen Island Store in Glen Falls located beside it.

Visitors can also rent a kayak, canoe, and other SUPs from the Lake George kayak.

  • Appropriate Clothing and Footwear

Wear and carry clothes that are appropriate for the weather, like swimwear or shorts. Make sure you wear neoprene footwear and carry a hat to shield yourself from the sun.

  • Carry All Essential Items 

Carry all the  important things that you might need, like:

  • Water
  • Snacks, energy bars
  • Life vests
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, and lip balm
  • First aid kit
  • Whistle for signaling

2.8. Visit Million Dollar Beach

Also commonly referred to as the million-dollar beach, Lake George Beach is a sandy stretch of about 51 acres.

This million-dollar beach in Lake George, NY Kayak was originally opened in 1951 at the cost of one million dollars, as the name indicates.

This beach, run by the state, is free to use and comes with many facilities like grills, picnic tables, a  boat launch, and so much more. They also have basic amenities like stands and lifeguards.

Million Dollar Beach is open all weekdays between the timings 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

2.9. Visit Natural Stone Bridge and Caves

Natural Stone Bridge and Caves Park, located near Lake George, is home to the largest marble cave entrance in the whole of the United States of America’s eastern region.

The park, built on the amazing landscape, is home to caves, waterfalls, trails for hiking, and so much more to explore.

Stone Bridge ice cream is the major highlight of Natural Stone Bridge and Caves Park and is a huge hit among all the locals; they feature many varieties of soft-serve flavors.

Natural Stone Bridge and Caves Park is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and the tickets to the park can also be bought online.

For a small town like Lake George Kayak, there is surprisingly a huge number of mini-golf courses.

The mini-golf course has become popular worldwide even to the extent that 2 of its mini-golf, namely the Lumberjack Pass and Around The World Golf course, are considered the liveliest in the world.

Lake George, NY alone, consists of about 21 mini-golf courses in total.
